Castro Smith Swallow & Hummingbird Signet Ring

A contemporary signet ring, modeled in 9k yellow gold and hand-engraved by the artist Castro Smith. This ring features a birds motif: an airborne swallow, diving amid five-petaled flowers, decorates the ring face, while hummingbirds, with long, trailing tail-feathers, grace each shoulder. The hummingbirds are accompanied by further flowers (cherry blossoms?), here growing on branches. And at the base of the ring shank, a lone bee, surrounded by falling blossoms. Each of our bird friends has a sparkling diamond eye! Castro Smith's bright-cut, seal-style engraving is precise and time-consuming— it is done in reverse (as if intended for use as a stamp), and it is highly dimensional. This is one of our favorite Castro Smith rings— the balance of the design elements and the graceful lines of the images are especially winning!
