Heaven Hill Grain to Glass Kentucky Straight Wheated Bourbon Whiskey – 3rd Edition 2026 The 2026 Heaven Hill Grain to Glass Wheated Bourbon is the third annual edition of Heaven Hill’s ambitious Grain to Glass series, created to showcase how individual grain varieties and growing conditions influence the finished whiskey. For 2026, Heaven Hill designated the program its “Year of Wheat,” focusing the entire Grain to Glass collection on wheated bourbon and continuing its unusually transparent approach of identifying the grain variety, distillation year, aging location and barrel details for each release. Distilled in 2019, this six-year-old bourbon was produced from a mash bill of 52% corn, 35% wheat and 13% malted barley, featuring locally grown Beck’s 6269 corn. The whiskey entered new #3 char American oak barrels at an unusually low 107 proof, was matured at Heaven Hill’s Cox’s Creek facility, and was bottled without chill filtration at its natural 107.8 proof barrel strength. The low entry proof and exceptionally high wheat content give this release a distinctive profile even among Heaven Hill’s other wheated bourbons. Aromatically, it combines sweet and smoky notes with polished oak and savory barbecue spice. The palate develops sandalwood and tropical fruit alongside white pepper, with the wheat lending softness and body beneath the barrel-strength intensity. The finish moves toward new leather, dried grasses and lingering complex spice, making this a notably more structured and savory expression than the sweeter profile typically associated with wheated bourbon.
