The All England Champion
A wonderfully characterful British folk piece of Cordelia II, All England Champion, 1837, depicted with the wonderfully serious formality traditionally reserved for prized livestock. Cordelia stands monumentally against a dark wooded landscape, with a grand country house appearing beyond. The deep oxblood arched frame is especially good, picking up the warmth of the landscape and giving the whole piece real presence. A proper conversation piece, and an exceptionally fun bit of British country-house history. Keep out of direct sunlight and gently dust with a soft cloth. Please note this item is final sale.
