WBB Painting for Posterity

We are proud to present William Blair Bruce: Painting for Posterity, the first of a series of scholarly books produced by the Art Gallery of Hamilton. William Blair Bruce is a key figure in the history of this city and the Art Gallery of Hamilton. William Blair Bruce is one of many Hamiltonians who, through their accomplishments and the attention and success they receive abroad, contribute to reveal the multi-faceted character of this city and its pool of artistic talent. As a painter, he left a legacy that includes some of the gems of painterly practice in late ninteenth- and early twentieth-century Canada. As an artist who took on the challenges of an international career, he deserves our admiration.
