Cartier Trinity Large Hoop Earrings 18K Tri-Color Gold — Vintage, 2 1/4"

Trinity, stretched into a 57 mm hoop. Three strands of 18K gold — yellow, rose, and white — laid side by side and twisted a quarter turn along the length of the hoop, so the three colors trade places as the ring comes around. At the front it's yellow on the outside edge; by the time it reaches the back it's rose, then white. Each strand is a rounded rectangle in section, polished on every face, and the three are joined only at the ends, which is why the hoop reads as three separate rings when it catches light at an angle. The Trinity ring, drawn out and opened up. Large. 2 1/4 inches across, 57 mm, and 17 grams for the pair — solid gold, not tube. They hang with real presence and swing when you move. Not a huggie, not a stacker. The hoop you wear on its own. Signed Cartier, stamped 750, numbered. 1990s production.
