Korean Street Food & Bao Bun Cooking Class
5.30pm – 8.30pm Discover the bold flavours of Korea in this hands-on Korean cooking class in Newcastle. Learn to make soft steamed bao buns from scratch and create a delicious selection of Korean street food favourites before sitting down to enjoy the feast together. We’ll start with homemade bao buns, making the dough from scratch before learning how to shape and steam these wonderfully soft and fluffy buns. You’ll fill them with Korean BBQ pork, quick-pickled cucumber and creamy gochujang mayonnaise. Next, explore some of Korea’s most popular street food flavours as we prepare crispy Yachaejeon Korean vegetable pancakes with sesame-soy dipping sauce and Tteokbokki, the much-loved Korean rice cakes cooked in a spicy-sweet gochujang sauce. We’ll also make oven-baked Korean sticky chicken, glazed with gochujang, ginger, sesame and spring onion for a delicious balance of sweet, savoury and spicy flavours. Once the cooking is finished, we’ll move into our private dining room where you can relax and enjoy the Korean feast you’ve created together.
