Epilobium canum ssp. canum (syn. Zauschneria cana) - Hoary Fuschia

Semi-evergreen ground cover to 1 ft tall and spreading to 4 ft. Brilliant orange-red tubular flowers in summer and fall. Attracts hummingbirds. Semi-dormant in winter; prune to ground in winter to encourage lush new growth in spring. Spreads by rhizome. Full sun along the coast to part shade inland. Drought tolerant, looks best with occasional supplemental water. Prefers fast-draining soils, tolerates clay and serpentine soils. Hardy to 10º F
