Pair of 1940s Aladdin Alacite G311 Table Lamps - Golden Lustre
This rare matching pair of authentic Aladdin Alacite table lamps dates to 1949 and features the celebrated Model G311 design. Molded from opaque Alacite glass, these pieces exhibit a classic vase-on-pedestal silhouette accented by a premium golden luster finish and hand-painted gold accent banding. The timeless lines and soft color palette allow this pair to act as an elegant focal point in both vintage and modern interiors. Both lamps have been re-wired, and the internal sockets have been replaced with new 3-way switches. New harps and brass finials added. Regarding condition, the metal hardware shows an authentic aged patina that does not distract from the beauty of the pair. There is also some minor, expected wear to the gold accent banding on the base of one lamp. Please refer to photos. The Mantle Lamp Company of America, renowned for its "Aladdin" brand, introduced its proprietary Alacite glass formula in the late 1930s under the guidance of chemist Henry Hellmers. Alacite was engineered as an ivory-toned opal glass designed to mimic the premium translucent look of minerals like alabaster and jade. By 1949, the company revamped its lighting line to debut highly successful electric designs like the G311, which remain highly sought after by collectors today for their quality construction and prominent place in American design history.
