The class covers how to layer and braid a traditional babka. Participants will practice cutting and shaping savoury sourdough breadsticks. Instruction includes selecting the right bananas for banana bread recipes. Techniques for retaining moisture and softness in bread for several days will be demonstrated. The class enables bakers to create three different flavours from a single batter. Participants will learn how to make a sourdough starter from scratch and maintain it in tropical climates. The class addresses baking in both home and commercial ovens. Participants will take home baked goods including a 500g braided babka, sourdough banana bread, chocolate banana bread, and banana walnut bread, along with 12 sourdough breadsticks and a sourdough starter. Additional items include a full-color instructional booklet and bonus video tutorials for ongoing reference. Note: The class contains gluten and is vegetarian friendly.
