That’s good news for all y’all, because these packs give you a chance to work with genuine caiman without having to start with a full skin. Each pack contains at least 2 lb. of assorted caiman, including a mix of tails, trimmed tails, and remnants from the belly, back, and flank. These pieces originally came from high-end boot and belt production, where the outer portions were trimmed away during manufacturing. That leaves us with plenty of really useful exotic leather for smaller projects, accents, and inlays. Caiman has several very different textures depending on where the piece comes from. Belly sections tend to have flatter, more rectangular scale patterns, while backs, flanks, and tails have heavier, more pronounced texture. Having a mix lets you choose the part of the hide that best fits the look of your project. These remnants are terrific for wallets, card holders, watchbands, jewelry, boot and belt accents, holster and sheath inlays, bag panels, trim, and other small to medium projects where a little genuine exotic leather can make a big difference.
