petit bay bag / fig

The Petit Bay Bag is the smaller sister of the Bay Bag. I reach for it when I'm dressed up and want to feel fancy, or the opposite, when I'm dressed down and want something to add a bit of polish. Both bags are from Pisces, a collection I made during a really low time. I'm a typical Libra, but back then I felt much more like a Pisces. My moods were like water, flowing every which way, and some days my tears were too. All I wanted was to make something, so I leaned into the craft to find some calm, and I could only draw on my melancholy. Like the Bay, it's a trapeze silhouette, the same shape as a bay, with two magnets on the flap, one bigger than the other on purpose. A little hint of joy. Fig is named for the fig tree in our backyard growing up, and the fresh figs that were a treat whenever it fruited. The colour itself is closer to a marinated Sicilian olive. A deeper, dirtier green than matcha.
