Love Letters

Each letter begins with a memory. Elvis learnt to carve as a schoolboy in Domboshava, a village outside Harare, Zimbabwe. Years later, while working as a fishmonger on Lake Chivero, often fishing through the night, he carved his first piece of wood, just an object for his own home. That one piece became a craft, and that craft became his livelihood. Today, Elvis still calls Domboshava home. Each letter is individually hand-carved from jacaranda wood and painted entirely by hand. He works without a fixed pattern, letting the colour and character of each piece guide what comes next, so no two letters are ever quite the same. Choose your letters to spell any name or word you like. Please allow 6-8 weeks from order to delivery. Measuring 9x5x1cm, each letter is a hand-carved, hand-painted piece, carved in Zimbabwe by an artisan who's spent a lifetime at it.
