Raide Men's LF Hybrid Anorak

Every ski tourer knows the midlayer problem: you want warmth across the core without cooking on the climb. The Men's Raide TourTech Hybrid Anorak answers it by putting insulation in one place only, a Polartec Alpha panel across the chest, and leaving the back and sleeves uninsulated where a pack rides and heat needs somewhere to go. The body is a 40d x 40d, 48gsm, 100% recycled nylon 6.6 with a PFC free DWR, light enough to layer under a shell without bulk. The sleeves move to a heavier 40d x 70d, 127gsm blend of 88% recycled nylon and 12% spandex, also PFC free, for stretch through the shoulders and arms. The chest panel carries 60gsm Polartec Alpha, one of the more air permeable insulations available, so it holds warmth while moisture keeps moving. A Medium weighs 236 grams. There is a dedicated beacon pocket and a chest ventilation zip, and sizes run S through XL. Targeted insulation is what keeps your core temperature steady through transitions without trapping heat on the way up. Layer this midlayer under a shell for cold summit stretches, or run it on its own for spring corn laps. If you run warm climbing and cold standing around, it is the piece that stays on all day. Features such as the tailored beacon pocket, cape mode (allowing you to ventilate the chest while still keeping the neck and hood snug), and scuba hood (designed to be worn over a hat, allowing you to keep your ears warm and the hood on during the climbs as well as the descents) help the Anorak earn its place as an essential layer for backcountry adventures.
