Mucha's Trellis Dress

A salmon pink panel forms the chest of this dress, framed on either side by a fine lattice pattern embroidered in a deeper coral thread, like a trellis waiting for its garden to grow. At the center, a hand embroidered floral spray echoes the print found throughout the skirt, bridging the solid panel and the surrounding fabric. The round neckline sits simply above this embroidered chest, letting the detail take center stage, before the dress flows into a full, gathered skirt patterned with the same soft teals, creams, coral orange found in the embroidery. Self covered buttons finish the back, alongside a butterfly bow sash lined in salmon. Thoughtfully detailed and beautifully balanced, this dress ties every element together with graceful harmony. From the designer's heart, where imagination meets craft : Alphonse Mucha loved to frame his figures the same way a garden frames a path, with a decorative border that opens onto a fuller scene beyond it. This dress borrows that same structure, a lattice like panel at the chest standing in for one of his ornamental frames, giving way to a garden that unfurls freely across the skirt. Even the palette recalls his softer works, warm coral and salmon rather than the jewel tones typically painted onto Art Nouveau posters. It is a small nod to a French decorative tradition, and to any child who has ever wanted her own frame to walk through. Composition : Fabric blend - Soft, supple and breathable. It is entirely lined in cotton allowing comfort for children's sensitive skin. Additional information All our collections are handmade within our own atelier.
