A Proper Dog
Step inside a British dog show and you might find yourself somewhere between the present day and the 1990s. In community halls, sports centres and show rings across the country, Jasper Cable-Alexander has spent more than three years photographing dogs and their people. Made almost entirely on analogue film, A Proper Dog is an affectionate, quirky look at a world of careful grooming, proud owners and close companionship. It asks what makes a dog “proper” and finds the answer in the bond between them. All profits go to Bristol Eye Hospital after an eye accident that Jasper had only a few months before beginning to work on this.
