Suhr Modern Custom | Figured Koa (Special Selection Top)

This Custom Suhr Modern features an extraordinary Special Selections Figured Koa top, personally hand-selected by us during our visit to the Suhr factory. Hawaiian Koa is already one of the most desirable and increasingly difficult tonewoods to source, but finding a piece with this level of figuring is exceptionally rare. The two-piece Special Selections Koa top is breathtaking, with incredibly dense, three-dimensional figuring, rich golden amber tones, and a dramatic contrasting natural streak running through the center. The matching Figured Koa headstock ties everything together beautifully, while the chambered Genuine Mahogany body, natural gloss finish, and gold hardware create an incredibly elegant instrument. Even the back features gorgeous, intricate grain patterns. This is the kind of wood you could spend hours looking at. Beyond its remarkable appearance, this is every bit the high-performance instrument you'd expect from a custom Suhr Modern. The satin Mahogany neck features an Even C Slim profile, a Macassar Ebony fingerboard with Brass Ring Face Dots, a 10"–14" compound radius, and 24 jumbo stainless steel frets. A pair of Suhr Aldrich humbuckers delivers powerful, articulate tones, complemented by a Suhr 2-Post tremolo and locking tuners. A truly exceptional Custom Suhr Modern, built around a hand-selected Special Selections Figured Koa top. With highly figured Hawaiian Koa of this caliber becoming almost impossible to obtain, this is a particularly special example of what Suhr's custom program can produce.
