1855 United Kingdom Queen Victoria Penny - Great Condition

This 1855 United Kingdom penny, struck under Queen Victoria, comes from the early "Young Head" copper penny series that circulated throughout Britain and its colonies in the mid-Victorian era. The design, featuring Victoria's youthful profile on the obverse and a seated Britannia on the reverse, remained largely unchanged for decades and is instantly recognizable to collectors of British coinage. Large copper pennies from this period saw heavy circulation, so examples retaining strong detail and surfaces, as described here, are always in demand. A great condition example like this offers nice eye appeal for the type without the premium price of a formally graded coin. A solid addition for collectors of British coppers or Victorian-era type coins.
