Calypso

Calypso draws on the colours, movement and energy of the sea, translated into a contemporary composition of 20 carefully considered colours. Rather than relying on a single flat surface, the design uses contrast and variation to create a sense of depth, movement and rhythm across the rug. Texture is central to Calypso. Loop and cut pile techniques, characteristic of Tibetan knotting, are combined to create subtle changes in height and surface, giving the pattern a tactile quality and a relaxed, contemporary feel. Hand-knotted in /sea/SILKE™, Calypso brings together traditional Tibetan craftsmanship with a new generation of material innovation. Made predominantly from reclaimed fishing nets and post-consumer waste, /sea/SILKE is a proprietary silk-performance fibre with a soft, fluid handle, subtle lustre and exceptional resilience. The result is a rug that feels relaxed yet highly considered — where colour, texture and craftsmanship come together to create a modern interpretation of the sea.
