Cookie Club For The Planet

This Fall, Progressive Hedonist is launching its first Cookie Club to share the joy of baking with freshly milled, whole grains. This four-part series, in collaboration with Patrick Shaw-Kitch of Brooklyn Granary & Mill and Olivia Whitener of Wild Thing, will offer a hands-on opportunity to taste, learn about, and bake with these incredible grains. Featuring guest bakers Karen DeMasco, Carla Finley, and Lisa Tanaka. Classes are available individually or as a pack of four. Only those who purchase the full series are eligible to join the Holiday Cookie Club Swap! Schedule: Wednesday, September 23 6-8PM Regenerative Grains 101 Deep dive into alternative grains, regenerative agriculture, and flour milling with Patrick Shaw-Kitch and Stuart Farr of Hudson Valley Hops & Grains. Location: Brooklyn Granary & Mill, 240 Huntington St, Brooklyn, NY Wednesday, October 14 6-8PM Cookie Fair Meet 3 of NYC’s best-loved bakers (Carla Finley of Apt. 2 Bread, Karen DeMasco of Gramercy Tavern, and Lisa Tanaka of Kosa NYC), learn about their approach to whole grains and sample their delectable baked goods. Location: Brooklyn Granary & Mill, 240 Huntington St, Brooklyn, NY Wednesday, November 11 6-8PM Wild Hands-On Baking Class Hands-on cookie-making lesson with freshly milled grains led by Patrick Shaw-Kitch, and a playtime session led by Olivia Whitener to go wild with your own cookie experiments.
