Wagon Vise Kit

A hard maple wagon vise for the end of your bench. Clamp between bench dogs or hold work between the moving jaw and bench. About 16" long with a 3-1/2" x 4" hub and 11" of thread, for about 8" of travel. Pick a kit Screw, nut & brass plate: the screw, nut, brass connector plate, shoulder bolt and anchor. Screw, nut, plate & handle: adds the maple handle. Complete: adds the install hardware too: two pre-slotted maple runners, two pre-drilled UHMW sliders, and all the lag bolts and screws. Pick a nut Standard nut (2-3/4" x 4" x 8-9"): you build up the end cap to hold it. Extended nut (2-3/4" x 4" x 26-28"): replaces that build-up and is counterbored so the vise sits closer to the bench top. What's what Brass connector plate, shoulder bolt and anchor: connect the screw to the vise. Plate in Vintage (aged) or Brushed finish; includes a slotted shim for setting the anchor. Handle: hard maple, 1" x 16-3/4", with threaded end-grain knobs on both ends and O-rings. Finishing Arrives sanded to 220 grit. Use a penetrating oil and skip film finishes like lacquer, shellac or water-based poly. Then wax the screw and nut threads with a silicone-free paste wax so it runs smooth.
