&Tradition – Numbra Pendant

Numbra is Teruhiro Yanagihara’s first design for &Tradition, and the pendant is built around a single idea: the straight line, and the shadow it casts. The name itself comes from “penumbra” — the soft, partial shadow around a central light source — pointing to a piece designed to shape the atmosphere of a room as much as light it. The fixture combines solid FSC-certified oak panels, finished in a clear water-based lacquer, with tumbled cast-aluminium fixtures and a stainless-steel core, softened by an acrylic diffuser. It measures 122 cm in length with an 11.2 cm diameter, and can be hung either way around, giving some flexibility in orientation above a table or in a hallway. It comes with a dimmable 15W LED, a 6-metre cord, and a matching ceiling canopy.
