Double Up July's Whisky 2026

This limited-edition release from Launceston Distillery captures a cleaner, brighter side of Tasmanian single malt. Crafted inside historic Hangar 17 at Launceston Airport, the whisky reflects founder Chris Condon’s patient, hands-on approach, with every stage from mashing and fermentation through to distillation, maturation and bottling taking place under one roof. Matured entirely in 100L American oak bourbon casks, this release lets Launceston’s spirit character come to the front. The distillery’s custom copper stills, extended seven-day fermentation and cool Tasmanian maturation help create a whisky that feels elegant, lifted and quietly confident, rather than heavy or overly oak-driven. The result is a bright and approachable single malt, opening with fresh pear, citrus zest, vanilla bean and soft orchard fruit. On the palate, honeyed malt, melon, apple skin, creamy vanilla and gentle spice build towards a smooth, warming finish with lingering honeyed sweetness.
