Total A magnificent vintage sculptural horse by Jaru of California, featuring a dramatic Neoclassical design inspired by the majestic equestrian figures of ancient Greece and Rome. Standing an impressive 15 inches tall, this beautifully proportioned ceramic sculpture depicts a powerful stallion with an elegantly arched neck, sculpted musculature, flowing mane, and gracefully curled tail. Its proud stance and stylized anatomical details evoke the grandeur of classical antiquity while maintaining the bold decorative character associated with American Mid-Century Modern design. The beautifully textured metallic pewter-toned finish accentuates the sculptural contours, catching the light across the horse's muscular body, expressive face, and intricately modeled mane. Restoration & Condition This handsome vintage sculpture has been carefully refreshed and restored to beautiful display condition. The ceramic body is exceptionally well preserved, with no cracks, crazing, chips, or structural damage noted. The sculpture has received a fresh application of metallic acrylic paint, followed by a substantial protective clear lacquer topcoat formulated to resist yellowing and UV exposure. The refreshed finish beautifully enhances the original sculptural details while providing a durable protective surface. New protective felt has been applied to the underside, and the original Jaru manufacturer's label has been carefully preserved and reattached. This sculpture is part of my ongoing restoration collection, created to preserve vintage decorative art and return deserving pieces to beautiful display condition. I have restored over 50 sculptures.
