Used French 3/4 Double Bass

This instrument is a French bass of about 150 years old. It is a fully carved instrument with a rich, deep sound that was refurbished 2.5 years ago with a new fingerboard and adjustable bridge. Previously owned by one of the Philharmonia bassists, it has been played primarily for jazz over the last few years. It is strung with pirastro perpetual E and A and pirastro perpetual stark D and G. It is an excellent bass in both sound and appearance that is suited to both orchestral and jazz playing.
