Tisbury Starstone Freeform Cabochon | 4.1cm | UK A beautifully kite-shaped Tisbury Starstone cabochon from Wiltshire, UK, the 4.1cm measurement runs point to point, following the shape of the stone rather than a standard width or length. The feathering detail visible across the surface is exceptional on this piece, the fine radiating patterns of the preserved coral structures showing with unusual clarity. One piece, sold as seen. Tisbury Starstone is a fossilised coral found exclusively in the ancient soils of Tisbury, Wiltshire, formed approximately 145 million years ago during the Late Jurassic period when this part of England lay beneath a warm, shallow sea. The characteristic star and feather-like patterns are the preserved skeletal structures of coral polyps, their intricate geometry locked in stone over millions of years of gradual mineralisation. It is composed of calcium carbonate (CaCO₃), hardness 3–4 Mohs. Handle with care — fossilised coral is fragile and should not be dropped or knocked against harder surfaces. Spiritually, Tisbury Starstone is associated with the Crown Chakra, celestial connection, and ancient wisdom.
