Artwork Story This piece tells a story about my time on Gunditjmara Country, especially down by the river and the beach. It’s a place I’ve spent a lot of time just sitting, watching the water move and noticing how everything feels connected there. I painted this during a time where going back to Gunditjmara Country was hard, because for the first time in my whole life, I didn't have a grandmother to visit. It’s a reflection of how places and spirits stay with you, even when you’re not there. Year of completion: 2026 Copyright Merindah-Gunya 2026
