Tritriva Bike Tour in Antsirabe

Lake Tritriva is one of the most beautiful volcanic crater lakes in Madagascar. It is one of the most famous sites to visit in Antsirabe. Most tourists choose to reach the lake by bike from the city, making the journey both scenic and immersive. The total distance is 19 km each way (38 km round trip). The tour lasts 6 to 8 hours by bike, depending on your preference: a round trip or a circular route to explore more landscapes. The journey begins with a visit to the Antsirabe railway station, where you will discover a bit of its history. Then, you will pass through the city center to observe daily life in Antsirabe. After 30 minutes, you will leave the city and cycle through rice fields and villages, where you can meet local people and visit traditional Malagasy houses. You may also have the opportunity to participate in local activities before reaching the lake. The ride to Tritriva takes about 3 hours, going uphill from 1,4oom to 1,700 m altitude. Around midday, you will arrive at Lake Tritriva. After parking the bikes, you will continue on foot with a local guide. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the lake and have lunch nearby. You will spend about 1 hour and 30 minutes at the site. After the visit, you will start cycling back (around 1 hour and 30 minutes). On the way, you will also visit another volcanic lake, Lake Andraikiba, located about 7 km from the city.
