2024 Rivers-Marie Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Rivers-Marie is a small, highly regarded California winery founded in 2002 by winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown and his wife Genevieve Marie Welsh, known for crafting limited-production Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon from top vineyard sites across the Sonoma Coast and Napa Valley. Built on a philosophy of letting each vineyard speak for itself, the wines are typically single-vineyard expressions made with minimal intervention, emphasizing balance, structure, and a strong sense of place. Production remains intentionally small, often just a few hundred cases per wine, with most bottles sold through a mailing list, which has helped the label earn a loyal following and a reputation as one of California’s more sought-after “cult” producers. "The Rivers-Marie 2024 Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast) is a very pretty wine. Macerated cherry, kirsch, sweet pipe tobacco, cedar and incense are some of the many notes that open with a bit of coaxing. All the elements are so well balanced. This mid-weight, nuanced Pinot delivers the goods, big time. The core of the Sonoma Coast Pinot is from Riddle, with pieces from the other sites in the portfolio (except for Platt and Summa). This is a stellar wine by any measure, and one of the very best values you'll find." -Wine Spectator, 92 Points Foxcroft Online Price: $45 per bottle* *This wine is arriving soon; we'll email you when it's ready for pickup
