Jane

Jane is a young female wildlife detection rat based in Morogoro, home to APOPO’s Training and Innovation Center in Tanzania. HeroRAT Jane is on a mission to help protect some of the world’s most threatened wildlife. Named by Dr. Jane Goodall during her visit to APOPO in July 2024, HeroRAT Jane is training to detect illegally trafficked wildlife products, including pangolin scales, rhino horn, and elephant ivory. With your support, Jane can learn the skills she needs to make a difference and help disrupt wildlife trafficking networks.
