Pocket Sponge (3.0)

Goal: Create a sponge that has a pocket for fingers and nails to assist with throwing. Feedback Form: link The Pocket Sponge 3.0 is designed to offer even more control, comfort, and consistency while working on the wheel. This updated version features a new pill-shaped design, a more dense material, and a slightly longer, thinner profile. The result is a sponge that feels more stable in use, holds its shape better, and provides improved precision while throwing. An interior pocket allows your fingers to rest inside the sponge, creating a secure grip that’s especially helpful during pulling and shaping. It’s also a great option for potters with longer nails who want better control without making direct contact with the clay. The sponge arrives dry and measures approximately 4.5" x 2.25". After being wetted for the first time, it expands to roughly 5.5" x 2.875", maintaining a more consistent feel compared to earlier versions. For a smoother working surface, you can wet the sponge and carefully flip it inside out to help minimize the feel of the seam. Available in orange and pink, the Pocket Sponge 3.0 is part of our ongoing development process. As always, we welcome feedback as we continue refining the design.
