Indonesia, Small Matte Black with White Striprd, 5-6mm on 23-inch Strands

Small 5-6mm matte finish spacer beads from Indonesia, black with white stripes 5-6mm on 23-inch strands These can serve the same place in designs as the African Small Strands and come with sometimes lower price tags. Their matte finish is a welcome advantage when so many new beads are too shiny to look good with vintage or antique beads These beads evolved of the Indonesian effort to replicate increasingly scarce "gooseberry beads" (clear with white stripes) from the African trade. Somebody decided that if they could make those, why not make other colors too? It's unfortunate that the name "gooseberry" is now applied to a whole line of opaque and multi-color beads that bear no resemblance to either gooseberries or gooseberry beads. I'm also not a fan of most of the color combos being produced, but am working with some of the major exporters to try to get better color combos to go with African beads and I've chosen a few from the existing selection, that I think could work.
