soft - balsamic - wood The 2002 Da Ye Shu Brick is a characterful Shu Pu’er that has developed impressive depth through years of natural aging. Made with large, loosely pressed leaves and subtle fermentation, this tea reveals a rich, balanced profile. The soft, full-bodied texture is accompanied by complex aromas of caramel and a molasses-like sweetness. Warm, round, and smooth notes evoke hints of sweet pipe tobacco, while each infusion adds spice nuances such as nutmeg and finishes with a touch of licorice. Almost like a dessert tea, it is a treat for lovers of sweet, complex flavors. This tea comes from the famous Menghai region in southwest Yunnan, China, near the borders of Myanmar and Laos. Traditionally, Puerh was made from large leaves, prized for their unique compounds that provide the characteristic aroma and aging potential. Over the years, lighter fermentation and long dry storage have enhanced the tea’s natural aging, creating exceptional aromatic depth with harmoniously matured, woody and balsamic notes. We are happy to offer this tea in collaboration with Olivier Schneider, a tea expert with over 20 years of experience researching Pu’er taste, processing, and culture. Having lived in Yunnan for many years, he now cultivates a centuries-old tea garden in northern Thailand, continuing to explore and experiment with teas while sharing his expertise through teaching and writing. Brewing Use a gaiwan or small teapot for best results. Break off around 6 g per 150 ml water, optionally rinse first, then brew with near-boiling water (95 °C). Steep 10–20 seconds for the first infusion, gradually increasing the time for later infusions. Many infusions are possible; at least eight are recommended to fully experience the evolving flavors. Available sizes: 200 g, 50 g, 25 g Origin: Menghai, Yunnan, China Producer: unknown, from the collection of Olivier Schneider Harvest & Processing: 2002, light fermentation (shu), natural dry storage Tea leaves: large leaf
