The Prayer Vase
37 x 14 cm Screenprinted stoneware vase 2026 Part of the series, "Still Listening: Ceramic Relics of Climate Change". With support from the New Brunswick Arts Board, I engaged in months of experiments in screenprinting ceramic materials to crisply document today's communication towers for future generations. As part of their Ponts Vivants residency at the Centre des Arts et de la Culture in Dieppe, Alison constructed this vase while speaking French with fellow ceramists. Alison got lost several times driving from Hampton to Dieppe. This communication tower was discovered beside a mosque after taking a wrong exit. Its image was printed from a photo taken in March 2026, and should last for thousands of years.
