Liars Dice
A beautifully made set for one of the oldest bluffing games there is. Each of the six cups is bound in calfskin leather - each in a distinct colour - with matching dice inside. The lid can be personalised with a name, initials, or date, making it an elegant gift for anyone who takes their games evenings seriously. How to Play Liar's Dice A game of bluff, nerve, and educated guesswork. The aim is simple: be the last player with dice remaining. Setup - Each player rolls one die - the highest roll goes first. Every player starts with five dice, concealed beneath their cup. Each Round - All players shake their cups and upturn them on the table, keeping their dice hidden from everyone else. The first player opens with a bid - a claim about how many dice of a given number exist across all cups combined. For example: three twos. Bidding - Play passes clockwise. Each player must either raise the bid - by increasing the quantity, the face value, or both - or challenge the previous bid. A bid of three twos could be raised to three fours, four twos, or five sixes, for instance. Calling the Bluff - When a player calls the bluff, all cups are lifted. If the bid was too high - fewer of that number on the table than claimed - the player who made the bid loses a die. If the actual count meets or exceeds the bid, the challenger loses a die instead. A new round then begins. Winning - Players are eliminated as they lose their last die. The last player with dice remaining wins.
