Leeuwin Estate Siblings Shiraz 2021

Produced by Leeuwin Estate in the Margaret River region of Western Australia, this wine comes from one of the country’s most respected family owned wineries. Established in the 1970s by the Horgan family with guidance from Robert Mondavi, Leeuwin Estate is renowned for producing elegant, site driven wines shaped by strong maritime influence from the nearby Indian Ocean. The vineyards are planted on gravelly loam soils over clay subsoils, which provide excellent drainage and help retain freshness during ripening. Made from 100% Shiraz sourced from estate vineyards across Margaret River, fermentation takes place in stainless steel with gentle extraction to preserve fruit purity and balance, followed by ageing in French oak barrels for around 12 months to add texture and spice complexity. Aromas of blackberry, plum and dark cherry combine with notes of black pepper, liquorice and subtle oak spice. The palate is medium to full bodied with supple tannins, fresh acidity and a smooth savoury finish. It pairs particularly well with grilled lamb, roast beef, barbecue dishes and mature cheeses.
