New Old Stock 1960s Eclipse Tools England SHEET SAW with 2 interchangeable Blades . A time capsule of times past. Originally developed for cutting sheet goods such as asbestos sheets, insulation slabs, thermoplastics etc . These items were tough on regular carpenters saws so blades would dull quickly. This saw was developed for cutting abrasive materials . When the blade dulled a replacement could easily be installed. The saw includes 2 blades one for soft materials and one for hard materials. Both are attached to the saw for shipping but in use the correct one for the material is attached used the 2 knurled screws. The saw has been in warehouse storage for decades and while the original packaging is still in place it is in poor condition. The die cast handle of the saw is also lightly scuffed as can be seen in the photos. There are a few spots of light corrosion as can be seen in the photos of the back of the saw. It is very light and is localized on the clamping apparatus for the blade. The handle features lovely lines and intricate labeling and instructions cast into it. A rare un-usual saw !
