OFF-GAS DETECTION The EK-OGD is a maintenance-free off-gas detector with a long lifetime that was specifically designed to increase safety and reduce costs of ownership in such applications as – Battery energy storage systems (BESS) Data centres and UPS rooms EV charging infrastructure Battery manufacturing facilities The detector detects H2 and VOCs (electrolyte vapours, including DEC and DEMC) to provide early detection of battery thermal runaway and off-gassing, mitigating risks associated with lithium-ion battery failures. In addition, the sensor measures relative humidity and ambient temperature, helping local systems keep these parameters within acceptable levels, reducing the risk of electrostatic discharge, short circuits, and equipment overheating. With the RS485 Modbus RTU communication protocol and three relay outputs for alarms and fault signalling, the sensor ensures flexibility and seamless compatibility with most fire safety and SCADA systems. The compact form factor allows installation even in space-constrained BESS and data centre battery racks.
