Treescape #28
Treescape #20 is a new horizontal work that explores the rhythmic interplay of light and shadow within the Australian bushland. This piece captures the moment where the sun strikes the pale bark of eucalypts, creating a bold, graphic pattern against the deeper shadows of the forest floor. In this painting, I leaned into a more abstract, gestural style. By using contrasting strokes of stark white and deep charcoal, I wanted to convey the vertical energy of the trees while weaving hints of neutral greys and cream into the background. It is about the feeling of looking through the bush—where the landscape isn't a static image, but a layered experience of colour and form. Details Medium: Original acrylic on canvas Framing: Framed in Tasmanian Oak * Dimensions: 185cm (W) x 95cm (H) Location: Available online and at the gallery at 157 Leura Mall, Leura NSW The elongated format makes it an ideal focal point for a living space or over a sideboard, bringing a sense of the Blue Mountains' quiet, wild beauty into a room.
