Tea: Emei Ganlu (峨眉甘露) Type: Green Tea Harvest: April 2026 Region: Emeishan, Sichuan Producer: Emei Tea - Little Yan's Garden Tasting notes: Light, Crisp, Grassy, Snap Peas. Tired of daily drinker green teas that are too vegetal, floral, or smoky? Look no further. This is a cooling, crisp green tea that is light and bright as it passes over your tongue, leaving a muted sweetness that lingers in your nose and throat. It is less roasty than some of the more premium Ganlus from the core growing area, but has still been made using the same wok-shaping technique and Mengding #9 cultivar. Tender buds beautifully rolled into thin, tight curls give it the appearance of a fine Duyun Maojian or Biluochun. Its light leaf color and cloudy fuzz-filled soup reflect the quality selection of material used in this tea from our long-time Sichuan producer. Whereas our Emei Maofeng is a more robustly vegetal tea that complements a richly spicy Sichuan meal, this is a tea that is more ideal for a day of hiking or a visit to the gym. You can put this in your favorite water bottle and let it cold brew over the course of your exercise; toss it in a glass mug as you are winding up work in the afternoon. This is a simple tea that has been made for simple enjoyment. From the endless stream of curly green tea from Sichuan labeled "Mengding Ganlu," and of those, we have selected the variant best in value and solid in flavor: a familiar companion to you on the hot days ahead. This was the same tea labeled "Mengding Ganlu" that was sent out to many customers with the 2026 First Flush box.
