16 Foot Persian Camel Hair Serab Runner #4540

Graphic impact. Tribal power. Those were the first words that came to mind when I saw this one and I stand by them completely. This is a 1920s Northwest Persian runner from Serab, 3’3 x 15’6 of pure saturated color and bold, confident tribal art. The golden camel field sets off those coral, saturated fuchsia and blue medallions in the highest contrast way… it just pops. There’s nothing subtle happening here. This rug knows what it is. The medallions stacked down the field one after another, each one slightly different, each one commanding. Dyed and still completely saturated after a hundred years. And the wool. Low pile but sturdy, with the kind of weight and body that tells you immediately this is quality. Scattered wear throughout, fully consistent with its age, nothing that takes away from the overall presence of this piece. It lays flat, its floor ready, and it means business. At 15’6 it has real reach and that golden ground is going to warm up any space it lives in.
