For the love of cobalt blue, this OLD spongeware platter is meant to be displayed and cherished. 💙 From the mid to late 19th century, this old girl has seen it all. This heavy stoneware lozenge-shaped platter shows bold splotches of cobalt blue glaze all over with a high gloss glaze. These utilitarian ceramics were easy to find back in the 1800s and were used in households just like yours and mine. Today, she'd make a lovely foundation to display a grouping of small houseplants🪴or even a stack of old blue and white dishes.
