Washingtonia filibusta (W. filifera x W. robusta) Hybrid Fan Palm Hard to find hybrid trees sourced from very cold hardy high desert genetics. Parent trees were originally sourced from seed near Albuquerque, NM (Zone 7) so these are genetically cold hardy. This is the hybrid cross of the California Fan Palm (W. filifera) female and Mexican Fan Palm (W. robusta) male, this tree can reach heights of 15 to 30+ feet, depending on climate conditions. It is a fast grower and has performed incredibly well in cold high desert climates! It is hardy to around USDA zone 7, and parent trees have seen temperatures near -0F! The parent trees usually suffer some frond damage but they rebound quickly in spring and look amazing and full by beginning of summer... each and every year! These plants would make excellent additions to your hardy exotic plant collection, or just make a unique statement in your yard. Various sizes available.
