Vasija Nido 040 is a handmade ceramic vessel made from raw, textured stoneware. This vessel is part of the Nido Collection where Terese explores themes of healing, renewal, and the special relationship human creation and the natural world. The clay used in this collection is symbolic as a material that embodies both fragility and strength... it is intentially left wtih cracks and breaks; this marks the essense of vulnerability. Terese weaves natural fibers into the ceramic surface, closing the cracks and "mending" the breaks. This act of "repair" is largely symbolic; it represents the process of healing and the restorative power of nature. These fibers, echoing the delicate structures of nests, function as both a literal and metaphorical means of protection... holding together what is fragile and broken. 13.5" (h) x 13" (w)
