It has broadly flattened, pale green, leaves with slightly curled edges. It has succulent leaves year round. It has a wide range of tolerance, but prefers damp, loose, peaty soils, and open shade, with wet Summers and dry Winters. It blooms in Spring and Fall with 1-7+ bright purple pink veined flowers. It responds well to warm, wet Summers and drier, cooler Winters. It is an excellent house plant, doing well on window sills, plant carts and greenhouses. They perform great in a terrarium. Our Butterworts are artificially propagated from leaf pulls. Plants are shipped wrapped in moist paper toweling in closed cups.
