"Gone with the Wind" Original Oil Painting of Running White-tailed Deer
This might be my favorite whitetail painting to date. When I painted "Gone with the Wind," I envisioned a small group of Kansas whitetails busting from cover and bounding cross the open prairie. The dark, saturated green cedars provide a backdrop that makes the buck pop as he nears the top of his leap, bounding into the sunlight. We all know how windy the plains states are, and if you look at the direction the grass is bending, you can see these deer are escaping with the wind in their face.
