Sylvain Cathiard Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru "Aux Malconsorts" 2006

While there is some secondary development present on the otherwise very fresh and markedly floral inflected nose that is composed of ripe and overtly spicy black pinot fruit. There is a beautifully seductive texture to the supple, rich, round and strikingly pure mouth coating medium-bodied flavors that brim with dry extract on the impressively long and balanced finish. This is a big yet unusually refined Malconsorts that is sufficiently supple that it could easily be enjoyed now though for my taste it should continue to improve over the next 3 to 5 years. In a word, lovely. Tasted several times since release with admirably consistent impressions. Burghound 93
