Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 Chronograph Green Steel 26393ST.OO.A056KB.01 It's fair to say the Code 11.59 series from Audemars Piguet received a lukewarm response from collectors upon debut in 2019. From a fanbase rabid for the Royal Oak, and often ignoring anything outside of it, it probably wasn't all that surprising as it's hard to follow on from one of the most iconic watches ever made. While they received a lot of praise for the case design, it was the uninspiring dials that left people cold. AP quickly realised this, and have been hard at work to improve the series. The major turning point was in 2023 with the introduction of the stamped guilloché dials, transforming what were fairly uninspiring dials to something that felt more in-line with the superb dials AP is known for. Combined with the outstanding and very complex case, and they have now created a line of watches that is truly carving out its own niche, and in our opinion is a fantastic addition to the AP lineup. As much as we love the new dials, especially in Chrono and Perpetual form, the case is what makes this watch special. Utilising flying-buttress style lugs which are attached only at the top to the bezel, they flow into a very complex case with it's octagonal mid-case in a brushed finish, flanked by highly polished bands which look amazing on the wrist. The strong design of the lugs and case can often make it look a bit thicker than it is, but it is actually only 12.6mm thick, making it fairly svelte for a chronograph, and not much thicker than a Daytona. All of this is amazing, but not as amazing as the bezel, which is actually concave at 12 and 6, allowing for a curved, convex sapphire crystal which creates an amazing effect when viewed on an angle. The optical illusion creates amazing levels of depth, with the concentric guilloche reflecting off it. It really needs to be seen in person to be appreciated. Flip it over and you'll find another convex crystal, behind which sits the in-house automatic column wheel chronograph 4401. It's beautifully finished, with a hand-finished skeletonized 18k gold rotor with inner angles on show, and also features a flyback complication for the chrono. It's finished with a textile-coated rubber strap which is uber comfortable. This one-owner watch dates from 2024 and presents in TZ 'Excellent' condition. The case and bezel shows swirls, light hairlines, and some very minor flea bites around the outer edge of the bezel. See images for full condition details. The strap is in fantastic condition, and the buckle shows desk dive marks. Has just had a service by AP in May 2026 under warranty, and is keeping COSC time measured dial-up on a timegrapher. Remains under AP warranty until 2029. Comes with outer box, inner box, warranty card, original purchase receipt and service acknowledgement. RRP is over 60k AUD. This is phenomenal value for money, and a great daily wearer AP.
