his summer singlet - aka union suit - is a refined gentleman's version of what men wore under their clothes in the summer heat. One piece, loosely fitted, easy on and off, and a "back door" to take care of business without removing your garment. SIZE: There is a printed "7" between the top 2 buttons - I don't know if that is sizing or not. Measurements Inches Cm Chest 46" 117 Approximate waist 42" 106.75 Hips 45" 114.25 Inseam 8" 20.25 Leg circumference 26" 66 Length from shoulder seam 40" 101.5 FABRIC/COLORS: Ivory colored silk crepe. The front neckline and placket are faced with finely woven unbleached muslin. TAGS: Bullock & Jones, San Francisco Los Angeles. Bullock & Jones was a high end department store that originated in San Francisco, and was privately owned until its sale to Saks in 1998. CLOSURES: The suit buttons completely up the front from the neckline to the crotch with eight pearly plastic buttons - the buttons have a bit of art deco style to them. The rear flap button on the wearer's right and can be adjusted by 3" depending on which of two buttons you use. CONDITION: The fabric is intact and seems strong - no holes or tears. There is a patch of pale yellow/tan discoloration, most noticeable along left waist/upper hip - see closeup. Even wealthy men sweated, and sometimes spilled things on their clothing. I hand washed, but have not tried aggressive stain treatments.
