Released as a highly significant milestone in the brand's Olympic heritage timeline, it was produced as a limited edition of just 2,016 pieces to celebrate Omega's role as the Official Timekeeper of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, updating the iconic 1969 Mark II pilot-style case with modern mechanical upgrades. This distinctive timepiece features a 42mm stainless steel case with a curvaceous, sinuous barrel profile that utilises precise sunburst brushing along the top face and hand-polished bevelled edges for dramatic mirror surfaces. The chamfered case architecture features an integrated, streamlined form without a traditional bezel, offering a highly compact lug-to-lug length of 46mm and a bold, powerful thickness of 15mm for a commanding presence on the wrist. A signed screw-down crown ensures a robust 100-metre water resistance rating. The standout feature of this model is its multi-level matte-black dial, inspired by the energy of the Olympic Games. The layout features a tri-compax chronograph configuration: three sub-dials placed at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock, uniquely decorated with rings crafted from 18ct bronze, 925 sterling silver, and 18ct yellow gold to represent the coveted Olympic medals, alongside a discreet date window at 6 o'clock. A specialised tachymeter scale printed directly onto the sapphire crystal is illuminated from beneath by an innovative, aluminium-ring Super-LumiNova ring. Sharp, white baton hands and applied indices are filled with premium Swiss luminescence for excellent legibility in dark environments. Protecting this complex design is a flat scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an interior anti-reflective coating.
