EN JP "Wavy Gradient Rug" is one of STUDIO THE BLUE BOY’s signature rug collections, carefully woven one by one in Kyoto, Japan using 100% New Zealand wool. The organic form composed of curves and circular shapes draws inspiration from “Karesansui,” one of the most iconic styles of Japanese Zen gardens. Inspired by the quiet flow of sand patterns, water movement, and the beauty of negative space, the rug reinterprets symbolic Japanese motifs such as the Hinomaru and traditional folding fans, while blending them with Art Deco and Mid-Century design influences. Unlike conventional rectangular rugs, this rug creates a landscape-like presence within a space. The moment your feet touch the colorful wave-like gradients and soft sculptural pile, it offers a feeling that goes beyond the comfort of an ordinary rug — transforming the atmosphere and sensation of the entire room. “Still Summer” and “Iris” capture the colors of summer light, reflections on water, and blooming flowers. Production usually takes approximately 8–9 weeks, however the schedule may vary depending on factory capacity and production conditions. Please note that lead times may shift earlier or later than initially estimated. As all rugs are produced specifically for each order, cancellations, exchanges to different products, or order changes cannot be accepted after purchase. Please also note that cancellations due to production delays or changes in lead time cannot be accepted. For international shipping, delivery may take an additional 1–2 weeks after dispatch. Care Instructions Shedding of loose fibers is normal with new wool rugs and is a natural characteristic of handcrafted products. Especially during the first 7–8 months, some shedding may occur, but this will gradually diminish over time with regular use and vacuuming. We recommend vacuuming the rug gently once a week.
